Lucky fan Dorothy got to meet Burn on the set of “Laid Off” yesterday and very generously allowed us to post her pic she got taken with him. On meeting Burn, she says:
“He was a lovely guy and didn’t mind getting his photo taken especially after spending all day filming in the sun in a black suit.”

ScreenDaily has a more in-depth article detailing the new indie film “Laid Off”, which is shooting in Glasgow this summer and which sees Burn take the lead role in a feature film for the first time.
“The short was very funny and the concept really caught the imagination,” says Davis. “The feature takes the concept and finds a story and an emotional arc for the central character. It’s more of a buddy film as Martin and his livewire sidekick go in search of a lost soul and at the same time he is coming to terms with the fact that he is dead and the realities of that.”
TV rights have been acquired by the BBC, but there is no news yet of a projected airdate.

As we said in April, Burn has a project filming this summer. ScreenDaily reports that Burn will head up the cast of Zam Salim’s debut feature film starting in June. He will be playing the lead character, Martin.
Laid Off is adapted from his award-winning 2006 short of the same name and expands on the blackly comic tale of a recently deceased man (Martin) coming to terms with the frustration and boredom of the afterlife.
Filming will take place in and around Glasgow for about 4 weeks starting mid-June.
